Watercolour Sea was a work where I honed my technical skills referencing detailed imagery while painting, but proceeding with abstraction to carry my idea further. Painting with watercolour can limit your ability to layer paint, or can provide you new opportunities. I try my best to allow a watercolour painting to do the latter.

Blue Aged Eye brought me peace painting this work from the mind and its small size is perfect for small spaces or added to a wall mixed with other artwork. Do you see it? The markings below the eye are almost concentrically circular, almost more-than-human. I often, when painting from the mind, like to insert subtleties of fantasy in work. Maybe I am inventing my own world.

Colour Study 01 is simply a first step in a deliberate experiment with colour. With the Colour Study Series I hope to utilise 'leftovers', remains of paints rehydrated with medium to mix the illusion of a landscape. I hope for the colours to initiate an interaction with the viewer. I ask, how do you feel in this landscape? And maybe what you said is something you are actually attracted to..
